A stong contingency of BAFF team members made the trip out to Maumee Bay State Park for the HFP event this past weekend.  With strong attendence from most Ohio based multisport teams BAFF was well represented both on the course and in the final standings.

Aaron Emig topped off the day with a 5th place finish overall in the Olympic Triathlon and one of the days fastest run splits .  Mike Ode also had a strong day finishing 2nd overall in the Spring Duathlon.  Other notable finishes include Frank DeJulius 12th overall and 3rd in his age group, Anna Frick and Janet Edwards 1st and 2nd respecibly in their age group, Andy Deak 2nd in his age group and Nate Loman earned 5th in the Elite Masters Division.

Another strong racing weekend for BAFF! Great job Team!

Clay's Park Excellence

This past Sunday proved to be another successful team event for BAFF at Clay's Park NEO Triathlon Kick-Off.  Every BAFF member placed in their age group or in the over all rankings.  In total BAFF had 5 people in the top 10 overall and several 1st and 2nd age group placings.  The only thing better than the awesome team showing was the post-race team BBQ hosted by Steve Thompson and family at their camp site.  The ball is definitely rolling early this summer for BAFF and we anticipate it to only speed up as summer moves on!

Check out the BAFF Facebook Page for more photos of the event!

BAFF ROLLIN' IN NUMBERS FOR EARLY SEASON SUCCESS

BAFF kicked off the first of several busy weekends with major success across the board. The team cleaned up at the inaugural Twinsburg Duathlon on Sunday with great participation overall and several podium spots.

Tony Marut topped off the podium for BAFF with a smoking fast second place finish overall.  Ed Slovenkay came in 4th overall and Bill Marut 6th overall with another solid performance, both guys also won their respective age groups.  Josh Zielaskiewicz also had a great day finishing 9th overall and winning his age group.

In the women's race Kim Shaheen had another awesome race and took 1st place overall honors and Katie Zielaskiewicz was right behind her was second overall. If that isn't a sweep of top spots for one team, I don't know what is! This was an outstanding first time event and BAFF was happy to claim it as theirs for the years to come.

While most of the team was racing in Twinsburg or training for their next event, Christian Kurilko was already hours deep into one of his major races of the season.  The BAFF uber swimmer took home the win at the Potomac River 7.5 Mile Endurance Swim on Sunday. Christian took first place overall wetsuit division by swimming the river in a blazing 2:55.  A truly amazing feet of endurance and skill!  Congrats to him and his kayak support for an exceptional BAFF win!
